Activities for Toddlers

Summer is here which means it’s time to pack up the tent and head out to the Great Outdoors for some much needed family time and relaxation. If this is your first trip with a small person you will need some fun camping activities for toddlers to keep them entertained and to help them make the most of the trip.

We’ve got some pretend play ideas for you to do at home, to help them understand what camping actually is, and then some toddler friendly activities to do both during the day and after dark so the whole family can have fun together!

My two are big fans of balloons at the minute. We read the Thomas and the Ten Balloons counting book every night before bed and they like to point out the balloons that might appear in any of their other books. Mum picked some balloons up from the store on Thursday and we had an impromptu sensory play session!

My kiddos don’t really play with the same thing for more than ten minutes at a time. I thought it was their age but I think maybe they just have too much choice. Because this past week they have spent hours playing with a cereal box and some straws! I was browsing online looking for an activity we could do one morning when I came across this cereal box and straws activity. I love activities that use materials I already have so this one made the cut!
